I recently have been trying my hand out at fire photography this fall/winter as I have had interest in it since I was an EMT a few years back. I reached out to a few photographers that specialized in it, met them, and picked their brains about it. Because I mostly work from home, I listen to the scanner as I work and try to catch what I can when it comes through. Business is slow right now, so this new avenue of work is keeping me busy, keeping my skills sharp, meeting new people and helping out the fire department with content for recruitment/training/documentation etc. Plus some of the guys seemed pretty excited about having some pics from the job. Recently, I was able to catch one a few miles from my house, and met a few other fellow photographers at the scene.
